Hi everyone! Here I am on my first vacation! I’m laying here in the sun on some rocks on the shore of the Oconaluftee River here in Cherokee, North Carolina. It sure feels good to lay in the sun after a long romp in the river.

For some reason my humans think it necessary and even fun to build rock dams, walls and bridges in the cold water…..   Oh well, I’ll just lay here in the sun and watch ‘em.

What do Buddy the Internet Dog and Smooth Jazz Artist George Benson have in common?

At least one thing - “Give Me the Night”

The 1980 smooth jazz cross-over tune by George Benson describes quite well the call of Buddy the Internet Dog. Buddy is just so different at night. Mild mannered, sleeping at my feet, ignoring any ball near him during the day Buddy turns into Buddy the ball catching, stick chewing, jumping all over the place night time champion.

If I live to be 300, I will always remember and treasure the moments I experienced on Saturday nite.

As Jonathon and I walked Buddy, we sat on a hill and Jonathon began to throw a tennis ball to Buddy. It only took two or three tries before Buddy was catching the ball in midair in his mouth.

Then the really amazing thing happened - with Jonathon at the bottom of the hill and Buddy at the top, Buddy would catch the ball and then lay it on the ground so it would roll back to Jonathon, so they could play catch.

Definitely goes on my list of “coolest moments in life so far” and gets me misty all over again just writing about it.

Here is how they came up with “Buddy the Internet Dog” for my full name

• It’s simple really - they found me using the internet through HomelessPets.com in the Atlanta area.
• Everyday I sit, lay and sleep at Jeff’s feet while he works on the internet

That’s about it really.

Makes me really glad that Al Gore invented the internet.

Hi everyone.  My name is Buddy and I am so glad to have a forever home with Jeff and his boys Jonathon and Caleb.  I love them and I know they love me!

My name was not always Buddy. The people at HomelessPets.com named me Peyton. Jonathon was the first one to notice me Saturday at the HomelessPets.com event and since I was wearing an American flag bandana, he started calling me Patriot. But all day Saturday and part of Sunday they kept saying “here, Buddy, come here Buddy” so by Sunday they figured out they should call me Buddy. (I knew that on Saturday.)

 So feel free to ask me questions.   I’d love to hear from you!
